Norooz in Pasadena is a celebration of the Iranian New Year
In 2013, Norooz will occur at 04:03:13 AM Pacific Time on Wednesday, March 20th,
at the turn of the spring or vernal equinox.

The first Norooz in Pasadena was officially celebrated on Tuesday March 20th, 2007 at precisely 05:07:26 PM at the turn of the spring at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California.
The mission of Norooz in Pasadena is to celebrate and promote Iranian arts and culture to the non-Iranian community in Pasadena and its neighboring communities.
The word Norooz means ‘new day’ and refers to a new beginning, a new year. It begins precisely at the time of the vernal equinox, which marks the beginning of Spring, on or about March 21.
Norooz in Pasadena is a non-religious and non-political cultural entity. As of 2009, Norooz has been declared “a new Pasadena tradition” by the City of Pasadena’s Mayor, Hon. Bill Bogaard.
